Pro-cannabis group collects signatures to legalize recreational cannabis in Florida for 2020

Industry News

As the third most populous state in the US, Florida has a huge potential market for recreational cannabis. When you consider Florida’s booming tourism market, it’s an enticing opportunity for the cannabis industry.

In 2018, the medical cannabis industry earned $626 million from 389,000 medical cardholders in Florida. Cannabis spending is projected to grow by $1.3 billion by 2025—and that’s without ending prohibition.

This initiative would legalize recreational cannabis use for adults aged 21 and older. It would also provide that:

Investors are anxiously awaiting the February 1, 2020 deadline to see if 2020 will be the year of recreational cannabis in Florida.

If you’re a Florida resident, you can sign the petition at Make It Legal Florida.
